It's been a while since I was bored enough to update my journal...
So, today, I'll talk about subjetcs that intersest only me, as usual
I'm (again) in my big "Damon Albarn period", listening again to Gorillaz, and especially the "new album", Gorillaz D-sides, which is a gathering of their B sides. I can't stop listening to Blur for a very very long time, and I really love the new "band" created last year by Damon Albarn, "The Good, the bad and the queen".
This guy is a real genius, whatever he touches becomes art, it really impresses me! British music rules!
Apart from that, I discovered The Go! Team, an english band (if I'm not mistaken) which is really good. It always brightens my day^^
And talking about music, it makes me think of I'm not there, the movie about Dylan. (What a transition, it almost looks as if it was on purpose!) I saw Control about a month ago, a really moving movie about Joy Division's singer, Ian Curtis. I'm not there is not moving in the same way, however it's really impressive in its ways to deal about Dylan. The idea of depicting Dylan through different characters representing him at different period of his life is totally incredible! It gives depth to the story, and the actors, as expected, are amazing.
It really is a great film!
And still about music and movies, I had the chance, two weeks ago, to see the new Kusturica film, and he was present at the projection, and the day after (which was my birthday), I went to his show with the No Smocking Orchestra. It was exhausting and so greeeeat! About his last film, it's completely grotesque, absurd, and extremely fun.
I've also read Crime and Punishment very recently, I thought it would be boring and much too long, but I gave it a try anyway. Last year I had to study a short novel by Dostoievsky, and it was quite awful. But Crime and Punishment is fascinating, and I read it rather quickly. I was a bit surprised by the end, not as dark as I thought it would be. Now I'm in the mood for other Dostoievsky novels, but first I have to read my compulsory books....
Concering drawing, I know I have commissions to do, and I apologize for being so long. I must finish some portrait on big format for Xmas, draw 4 portraits of the same baby, and I like to do some painting and try to sell them to have some money. So, don't worry, I don't forget I have commissions to do, I just don't have time for it right now
I think that's all, it was very interesting I know, but at least I was busy during 20 minutes....

Villain's Brain, Hero's Heart
Truly I am amused and inspired by some of your paintings. I took my old sketch book and turned it into an all acrylic paint book--so when I came about your page they struck me quickly.
I'm definatly watching you too-I hope to see a lot more! Brava! Beautiful work!!
