I put this drawing into this section even if I don't mean it to be a sketch (I spent far too much time on it to consider it a sketch...) But when it came to scan it, it was the same as usual: the result is completely lame. The paper is too thin and the lines either come out too visible, or too invisible.... Anyway, this is almost (I did some impROvement on it later) the drawing I gave Alan Lee when I saw him at a great bookshop. I already had to make him sign my book of LOTR, which was quite paralyzing for me, but I managed to gather enough courage to give him this, and he was really happy^^
Oh my, this is just wonderful <3 She really looks like I had envisioned her in the book, with her cap *happy sighing* And I love the softness of her skin and the way the light you've created seems to sheen off her. Just lovely.
The picture is very beautiful! I love it! She has very much strengh and age in her eyes I think, and the solemnity of the portrait fits very well. The black background too makes it look like an old fotograph *g* And finally, the ornamental design with the leaves on the bust are quite something new and unseen
I like your Arwen a lot. And I like the media you have used: the coloured paper and the pastels (are they pastels? It look like it to me), gives is a softness that I like a lot.
